In the shadows she stands alone.
Does she feel peace or does she
feel emptiness?

Tears slowly falling onto the ground.
Are they tears of joy or tears caused by
indifference and silence?

She stands alone for she has no choice.
Is it because she chooses to be alone
or could it be no one really wants her close by?

In the shadows her thoughts seem to go
over many things.
Taking blame for every little thing that goes
wrong.
But how can this be?
How can she be at fault for everyone's problems?

She stands alone because there is no one that
will stand with her for very long.
She guesses that she must drive them away
but if that is the case then why does she still
take up space in the world?

The shadows that come and go are added to her
memory.....her journal of life that the pages
are starting to turn yellow with age.

She stands alone in the shadows till it's time for her
to step into the light and to find someone to take
the time to get to know her and to care.

She fades silently into the pages of time.
