Flutes softly playing
as the bluebird sings.

The elders sit around the fire
watching the small ones
and remembering when once they
were a child.

Children in buckskin with beads
of many colors.
Moccasins upon their tiny feet.
The great Spirit smiles down from
above on this beautiful day in
the life of a child.

Drums beat slowly as the children
take the hands of their grandmothers
and take them to join them in this special
dance.
Young and old joining in life and sharing
their spirits.

Children are a whisper from God.
Aloving whisper caressing the souls
of us all.
