~Black Patent Leather Shoes And Memories ~
She danced in her black patent leather
shoes with the tiny bows attached.
She twirled around in the breeze
in
her pretty yellow satin dress.
Her red hair shined in the sunlight.
She hummed a happy tune.
Time slipped away and like the memory
of her childhood it was gone.
She blocked the memories and refused
to go back to that point in time.
The dance has stopped she has grown
into a woman but as much as she
tried she couldn't shut out all the memories
of those days when she was a child.
She tried to remember happier ones
but there were none.
No more black patent leather shoes
with the tiny bows.
No more yellow satin dress twirling
in the soft breeze.
Red hair is fading into white.
Steps are slower and her memory
is slipping away.
No more sad memories to fill the days
that are left for her to remember.
Now she has gone to a happier place.
A place where she will fit in perfectly.
Where she will always belong no matter
what.
She is loved now and that's all she ever
wanted.
Finally her dreams have
come true.
